We are proud to welcome Sally as the 2024 Thinker in Residence for the Psychosocial Safety Climate Global Observatory (PSC-GO) at UniSA. Sally McManus is the Secretary of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU).
As the Secretary, Sally leads the ACTU, representing and advocating for working people. The ACTU is the peak organisation for Australian unions. It has 38 affiliated unions and stands for approximately 2 million Australian workers.
Sally is the first woman to hold the position of Secretary since the ACTU’s creation in 1927. Sally is a strong leader and brings people together across many industries and levels, from the Prime Minister to shop floor workers and everything in between.
In this public lecture, Sally will present on the critical role that unions have in creating decent work conditions for all workers.
The lecture will promptly begin at 4:30pm on the 6th of November 2024, in the Allan Scott Auditorium, City West Campus, UniSA.
Light refreshments will be provided for attendees after the lecture.
